Bridgetown High School is a school with a highly committed and professional staff of approximately 30 people, and 150 students. It is a very friendly school where staff and students know each other well and where everyone is valued. Learning is strongly emphasised and there are high expectations that your child will use his or her mind well and strive for personal excellence. Your son or daughter will be provided with opportunities to become an analytical, critical, and creative thinker. Through our collaborative approach to learning, the Student Forum and the School Council, students are encouraged to become active citizens and leaders within the school community. Bridgetown High School has a strong commitment to provide a safe environment in which everyone can learn. Students learn best when they enjoy what they are doing, and when they are free from all forms of harassment. To this end, we will teach your child about the two main themes of Protective Behaviours. They are: Everyone has the right to feel safe all of the time and Nothing is so awful that you can’t talk about it with someone. These two themes underpin our strong anti-bullying stance and the way in which we interact with students. Your child will be taught that to be safe requires choice, consent, and control. |
